Rocket City Retro Sign

October 1, 2015 - Nicole and Billy Meyers always knew they would own their own business, but their dream of opening a surf shop morphed into something truly unique to the Space Coast. What some may refer to as a secondhand furniture store is really more like a gallery of beautifully preserved and restored mid-century modern furnishings, manufactured with a level of quality that modern shoppers can only dream about. Rocket City Retro has continuously grown through each year of operation, but four years and four locations later Billy and Nicole have finally found a home for their business that will allow them to take Rocket City to the next level.

The most recent recipients of a façade grant, awarded by the Cocoa Community Redevelopment Agency, Nicole and Billy have spent hundreds of hours ensuring their newest location is better than ever before. With loyal customers traveling from around the state to visit the store, Rocket City Retro is expanding its inventory to accommodate customer requests and further explore the owners’ dreams. From furniture reproduction to retro events, this is much more than a secondhand store. Expect to see the addition of retro style artwork by Derek Gores, vinyl records curated by Mike Jack, vintage and vintage style clothing handpicked by Nicole herself, and refurbished/repurposed pieces by Billy throughout the showrooms. Keep an eye out for homage to Cocoa High School; a piece of the original gym floor has been repurposed as a door separating showroom from workshop. Go Tigers!

Bring your friends, your family and even your dog to the store’s new location at 116 Forrest Avenue in Cocoa and mark your calendars for their grand opening celebration taking place on November 14, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. For more information and inquires call (321) 446-0129 or be on the lookout for their new website at
